The Right Personalised Care, Every Time

Our Veterinary Services

From routine health checks and flea treatment to orthopaedic surgery and advanced medical care, at Orchard View, we cover the full spectrum of healthcare.

  • If your pet goes missing, a microchip is the key to bringing them back home. It’s a tiny implant, about the size of a grain of rice, that’s placed under your pet’s skin using a needle.

At Orchard View, we provide microchipping for a whole variety of pets and aim to make it as painless as possible. They might feel a small pinch, but we’ll be sure to keep them distracted with tasty treats.

For dogs: Microchipping by 8 weeks is a legal requirement and not having your dog’s microchip registered can lead to a fine of up to £500.

For Cats: As of June 2024, all cats must be microchipped by 20 weeks of age.

  • There can be many health benefits to neutering, from reducing behavioural issues like roaming or fighting, to reducing certain types of cancers or even life-threatening infections in females. We understand though that it can be a difficult decision to make, especially when is the right time to neuter your pet. We’re here to guide you through it all, from discussing the procedure with you to finding the perfect time for your pet. We make neutering as pain free as possible for you and your pet, getting them home to you the same day. We’re here to guide you through every step - before, during, and after - so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in safe, caring hands.

  • Need repeat medication? We’ve got you covered! Our prescription service makes it easy to get what you need for your pet to stay happy and healthy. Whether it’s managing a chronic condition or providing short-term relief, we’re here to ensure they get the right treatment without the hassle. We offer convenient refills, expert advice on dosage and administration, and we’re always happy to answer any questions you have.

  • Although we’re a small team, we have a high level of experience and expertise here at Orchard View Vets.  Kate has a post-graduate surgical certificate and can confidently perform a wide range of surgical procedures, so we can cover almost all of your health needs right here in our practice.

For more complex or less common procedures, we have a great relationship with a visiting surgical specialist, who is able to come to us to perform procedures. Peace of mind, that you can get all the support you need under one roof.

  • Saying goodbye is never easy, and we know how important it is for you to be able to do this in a comfortable, familiar environment. That’s why we offer home visits when the time comes.  We aim to provide gentle, compassionate care that allows your pet to pass peacefully in the place they feel safest.

  • Good dental care is vital to your pet’s overall wellbeing and comfort, and we’re able to offer dental X-rays, professional cleaning, and dental procedures, to address any issues - like removing painful teeth when needed.

  • While Kate has her postgraduate certificate in surgery, Maddie has a postgraduate certificate in medicine, meaning when you come to us, you’ll get that extra level of expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. This combination of skills at a higher level means you’ll always be in the best hands, whatever the problem.

  • We know how much your pet means to you and keeping them safe from parasites is key to their wellbeing. Fleas and ticks can cause uncomfortable itching and infections, while worms can be harmful for both your pet and your family. Certain parasites can also lead to serious diseases if left untreated. The good news is, we provide the regular treatment you need to keep your pet (and home) pest-free.

Our Orchard View Family Membership includes monthly treatment to keep your pet free from parasites.

  • We’ll create a vaccination plan that’s right for your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors. Whether it’s their first set of jabs or an annual booster, we’ll follow the most up to date guidelines and make sure they stay protected, giving you peace of mind and keeping them happy and healthy.

  • Commonly used to treat human ailments, acupuncture has been proven to work for animals too. We have a qualified member of the team who can offer acupuncture to provide pain relief for our patients. This evidence-based technique involves using small needles that cause the body to send out its own pain relief chemicals from the brain to the painful area, while at the same time, blocking some of the pain pathways from the area that go directly to the brain. Please just get in touch if you’d like to discuss trying this technique for your pet.

  • Our vets are highly qualified and dedicated to making sure you and your pets receive the care that’s right for YOU. We have a light and airy waiting room with separate cat and dog areas. We’ve also fitted Floors for Paws to make sure our floor is comfortable and non-slip for your pets.

  • Planning to take your pet abroad? We’ll guide you through the process to make sure your travels go smoothly. Navigating the requirements for travel documents can be complicated, but we’re here to help. From vaccinations and health checks to ensuring all the paperwork is in place, we'll do everything we can to make travelling with your pet simple and stress free.

  • We’ve invested in a high-quality X-ray machine and ultrasound technology to provide a level of care that goes beyond what’s typically available in many primary veterinary clinics. This means we can often diagnose and treat your pet right here, without the need for additional referrals.

And as with our orthopaedic surgery service, when your pet does need extra care, we have strong relationships with imaging specialists who can work with us in house. Giving your pet the best possible care, all the way through.

  • We look after our feline friends by providing separate cat waiting areas and a purpose-built cat ward. We also follow ISFM guidelines on creating a cat friendly practice. Maddie has her GP certificate in Feline Practice, providing that extra layer of expertise in caring for your feline family.
