Our Orchard View Team
Maddie
“I really LOVE being a vet, especially getting to know my clients and their pets. So much of the joy of the job comes from that relationship.
I obtained my certificate in dog and cat medicine in 2022, and relish tackling this side of patient care. I also have a GP certificate in feline practice which adds to the level of service we can offer our cat patients.
Outside of work, being a mum and looking after Daisy (our rescue greyhound) takes up most of my time! When I’m not at Orchard View, I also like to run on the hills (which Kate and I often do together!), drink nice wine and hang out with friends.”
Maddie has been a vet for nearly 20 years and lives locally with her husband David and their two girls.
Veterinary Surgeon & Owner
Kate
“My dedication to providing exceptional care led me to co-found Orchard View alongside Maddie, bringing to life our shared vision. With a specialised interest in surgery, I earned my post-graduate surgery certificate in 2022, enabling me to perform advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. This means, with us, your pet receives comprehensive care from a trusted local veterinarian/vet, even for complex surgical needs.
Beyond my professional expertise, my personal experience with my own Labrador, Dart, who faced numerous health challenges, has deepened my empathy and understanding of pet owners' concerns. This experience reinforces my commitment to treating every animal with the same level of care I would want for my own pets, Dart and Pip.
When I’m not at Orchard View, I love being out walking with my two dogs, climbing, and running – especially with Maddie when we get the time!”
Kate brings a wealth of experience to our practice, having qualified as a vet in 2015.
Veterinary Surgeon & Owner
Laura
Head Veterinary Nurse
Laura has been a qualified veterinary nurse for over 20 years and holds a post graduate certificate in emergency critical care. For the last ten years, she’s been the Head Nurse at a large 24-hour hospital.
Laura has worked with Maddie and Kate for the last five years and has been part of the Orchard View Vet journey right from when it was just a seed of an idea! Her contribution and experience as a highly skilled veterinary nurse have been invaluable from before we even opened our doors.
“After 20 years, I still have a real passion for my job. I was born in Gloucester and have always loved living here, so I’m delighted to now be part of the Orchard View family supporting pets in the area.
When I’m not working, I’m a busy mum of three and enjoy walking in nature. Last, but not least, my husband and son have done all the building work to create our lovely Orchard View Vet, so you could say, it’s a real family affair!
Abi
Abi qualified in 2015 and has a strong background in first-opinion practice as well as referral settings. Her extensive skill set includes patient care, surgical nursing and client education.
Veterinary Nurse
“I’m especially passionate about feline medicine and have a particular affinity for cats! I love nothing more than looking after their health and well-being through high-quality nursing care and compassionate handling.
Outside of work, I’m a devoted mother to two young boys who keep me very busy and active! I also enjoy reading and playing netball - balancing a love for literature with my competitive spirit on the court. Having a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic, I take pride in both my professional and personal life, always striving to provide the best care for my patients while making the most of my time with family.”
Andrea
Andrea has been a Veterinary Receptionist for six years and loves nothing more than welcoming clients and pets into the practice. She’s the matriarch of the team and we refer to her as our work-mum, as she’s always there with a hug and a smile when we need it.
Veterinary Receptionist
“Meeting new people and animals every day is the highlight of my job! I have three dogs - Doris, Gilbert and Steve - and I enjoy spending time with them and my family. In my free time, I love listening to music and socialising with friends.”
